Send change of address notices to:

• Family and friends
• Magazines/Catalogs
• Clubs and organizations
• Insurance companies
• Businesses that carry a balance due-
• Charge accounts, credit cards

 Transfer or obtain insurance for:

• Car(s)
• Life
• Hospitalization
• Household and personal goods- Verify coverage on packing/unpacking and travel

 Visit your local bank to:

• Inquire about a recommendation for another banking institution
• Arrange for sufficient cash and/or travelers checks to cover the necessary moving expenses. Moving companies may required cash or a certified check.
• Empty safety deposit box

 Disconnect and obtain any deposits or letters of credit from:

• Gas
• Electricity
• Telephone
• Water

 Be sure and stop service on:

• Milk delivery
• Lawn care
• Newspaper

 Notify the appropriate school officials and obtain:

• Necessary progress reports
• An updating conference with your child's teacher

 Notify your church of your departure and to:

• Send membership papers and other documentation

 Obtain any birth and baptism records

 Obtain all medical records of shots, dental records and eyeglasses prescriptions

• Fill all prescriptions

 Service appliances for the trip:

• Car
• Mowers
• Refrigerator
• Snow Blowers

 Check that you have picked up all personal items

• Dry Cleaning
• Storage items
• Film

 Return all items that you have borrowed and visa versa.

 Pack a box of items you can take directly to your new home

• Cleaning supplies, medicines, tools, cleaning cloths, flashlight, batteries and first aid articles

 Take a careful inventory:

• Make a list of furniture and other household goods.
• Notify the moving company of your list and then use it for comparison on arrival , if needed.

 Verify with the moving company the approximate day and time of arrival and method of payment.

 Let family or a close friend know your travel schedules and routes.

 Leave the key to the home you are selling with your RE/MAX Sales Associate.
