Lake Livingston, a 93,000 acre man-made lake (with 28,000 acres of the lake in the southeast portion of Polk County) provides many recreational opportunities. The lake, with some five hundred (500) miles of shoreline, has numerous residential areas, marinas, campgrounds, fishing piers, boat launches and vacation homes. The proximity to larger metropolitan areas make Lake Livingston a favorite recreational area.
